There’s a lot of talk these days about cause-related marketing and corporate outreach. It seems like every few months there is a new “it” cause out there, but at Teva, we’re a bit of an anomaly, because we’ve been supporting the same cause since our inception 25 years ago: water.

Where you find water, you find life. It’s a simple philosophy, but it relates to a fundamental truth of this world. Ever since we were born on the Colorado River in 1984, we’ve felt a deeply ingrained connection to water. That’s why, in 2011, we’re embarking on our most ambitious effort yet: A Pair for a Foot.

For every pair of Teva shoes sold in 2011, we will help protect a linear foot of global waterways in rivers, lakes and oceans. We are targeting to steward 4.3 million feet/1.3 million meters worldwide by the end of the year.

Teva is excited to be working with Waterkeeper Alliance, Ocean Conservancy and Save the Colorado to protect bodies of water around the globe. Throughout the year, Teva will assist with water clean-up and protection efforts with on-the-ground volunteer and equipment support. Teva will also donate a portion of every pair of shoes sold to fund additional clean-ups to reach our goal of protecting 4.3 million linear feet worldwide.
