You wouldn't ride a bike without a seat. The same logic applies for our Shoc Pad™ technology, which will give you a smooth ride without inhibiting your performance.
Spider Original™
A lot of people ask why we named our original rubber compound after one of the creepiest creatures on the planet. In response, we ask them if they’ve ever seen a cute puppy climb up a completely vertical, soaking wet rock. No? We rest our case.

Comments about Churn:
Bought these for 2 and 4 year old for trip to big island Hawaii. Could not have made a better choice. We can go from wading pool to lava rock to swimming without missing a beat. Shoes stay on the whole time. And no complaints from kids after daily use for over a week. Kids don't have to wear socks either ( this has been a protest for my kids and was a selling point for them). Some relatives thought the shoes we're hard to get on but I dismissed this because I know they are snug when kids are in water. They are definitely easier to get on with dry feet (like a bathing suit). I couldn't be happier with the shoe choice. Even got some women's for myself.
Pros
- Breathe Well
- Comfortable
- Good Fit
- High Quality
Cons
- Expensive
- Slow-drying

Comments about Churn:
I don't know why Teva is advertising these shoes as being designed for the water. Perhaps the testers live in a very arid climate, or have special dessicant chambers to put the shoes into after use. They are made of resilient material, I'll give you that, but the insole is glued to the inside bottom of the shoe, preventing effective drying. Also, the sole itself is a solid hunk of rubber with the bottom of the shoe glued to it, so there is probably significant surface area in the hidden sections of fabric for water to hide (and mold to breed!). These shoes will be mold-city at the end of the summer, I am certain of it. Planned obsolescence? Other than that though it's a great shoe, we just won't be using it in water.
Pros
- Look cool feel great
Cons
- A Little Pricey
Best Uses
- My son wears them all day
Comments about Churn:
I was looking for shoes that my son could wear all summer long, both at the pool and elsewhere...both with socks or without. Also, my son is not great at shoe tying, so I needed something he could pull on quickly without those giant velcro straps. These are perfect! They look very good, he wears them all day and says they are comfortable, and he can easily put them on himself (easier now that they have loosened up a bit). Arch support like a tennis shoe but the ease of a flip flop. Highly recommended!
