I guide tours on weekends through national parks and forests, and these are my go-to shoes for casual hiking. They're great for wet Pacific Northwest muddy trails and rainy conditions. I am in Iraq at the moment and these boots are amazingly comfortable. The heat is rather extreme and the rocks are difficult to traverse, but this footwear makes it a lot easier. I will probably be buying another pair.

Wasn't sure about the waterproofing as I always use leather and gore tex but they survived many drownings in Irish bog and managed to keep my feet dry, our whole trekking party was amazed. Very easy to break in and a perfect fit for me as almost all the Northern European brands I tried were wider fitting and left me with too much movement in the heels on downward slopes.
