The only Sandal that would last the jungle

Yes ! They are a chuffing lot of money ! But these last for decades ! I had my last pair for 20 years and were worn most of my travel around the globe. They were only thrown out at my wife's insistence ! That day was heartbreaking ! I found putting the cat down harder ! I sneaked them out of the bin twice . It's on expedition work you really find out how much better they are compared to anything else ! I did a jungle expedition back in 1997 and these were the only sandal that lasted the 3 and a half months in a Mozi infested jungle island that we launched boats from every day. So they were in and out of sea water everyday, being used to climb over rocks every day, the grip was always superb. Jungle trekking expeditions they were the only ones that could last the distance. Pound for value these are an ungodly bargain !

Wouldn't buy again, even half price

I can see why these are sold half-price, having now worn them a few times, as the unlined polymer insole is awful. I have never had blisters like it, or not on walks of 4 or 5 miles. I don't like wearing socks with sandals (looks ridiculous), but with these I now have no choice, given that it is difficult to anything to a surface like this. Sole is too flexible too, just as with my other newer Teva, sharp stones hurt through them. My 12 year old one's were much much better. Lasted for years of hard use. The newer one's don't. I won't be buying Teva again.

Great while they last

Tevas are comfortable straight out of the box. I go dog-walking in parks 5-10 miles, 3-4 times a week in Tevas in spring, summer and autumn. When hiking, they're great for river crossings - just pull up your trousers and wade on through. When mountain walking, the soles grip almost as well as rock slippers but, obviously, they're not 'technical' for climbing. Eventually, of course, they give up and split where the straps join the foot bed. It's a pity they don't have more cushioning for the heel. When they've gone, they've gone. It's like losing an old friend.

Straps too short

I'm a UK size 7 and I found the straps only allowed minimal overlap on the Velcro. They need to be longer. These are my fourth set of Teva sandals over many years and I'm very happy with the comfort and wear. Longer straps would make them perfect.

Third pair of Tevas in a row

I just put them on and forget they're there until it's time to get a new pair
